Central Secretariat Member of the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), N.K. Premachandran is a senior Indian parliamentarian from Kerala with a proven track record of governance at both state and national levels. Along the way, his political career has been a pertinent mixture of party organisation, legislative work, and executive responsibility.
Premachandran was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 2006. He was the Minister for Water Resources in the Government of Kerala. In his position, he answered for irrigation, groundwater development, water supply, and sanitation; thus, among other things, he was in charge of the key departments related to resource management and public infrastructure.
After being elected as a Member of Parliament from the Kollam Lok Sabha constituency in 2014, he moved into national politics. His winning the poll was the commencement of the unbroken parliamentary representation of the constituency by the Revolutionary Socialist Party, UDF being the alliance.
He again got the nod from the voters in 2019 and thus continued his second term in the Lok Sabha. He also served in parliamentary committees, actively took part in debates, raised questions, and scrutinised the legislature. His focus was on governance, public administration, and accountability.
Premachandran held on to his position for a third term in 2024 from Kollam, and thereby he became one of the senior MPs of Kerala. As of 2025, he is still a Member of Parliament, part of the central leadership of the RSP, engaged in legislative duties, committee work, and constituency development.
