Jyoti​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Mirdha came into this world on the 26th of July 1972 in New Delhi and was raised in a politically influential family from Rajasthan. She is the granddaughter of a long-time parliamentarian, Nathuram Mirdha, and the daughter of Ram Prakash Mirdha and Veena Mirdha, both of whom were deeply involved in public service. Politics was basically in her blood, and she got fascinated by the aspects of governance, public welfare, and parliamentary affairs as she grew up.

She made her debut on the big stage of Indian politics in 2009 when she got elected as a Member of Parliament to the 15th Lok Sabha from the Nagaur constituency. Jyoti Mirdha, during her parliamentary term (2009-2014), was very much involved in and care of health and family welfare subjects. She led the demand for the pricing of pharmaceutical drugs to be regulated by the authorities. Besides that, she kept pressing the water resource management issue, and also contributed to the alternative medicine field, particularly nutrition, and solar power initiatives.

In 2014, Jyoti Mirdha again fought Nagaur's 16th Lok Sabha election, but she lost and thus closed the first chapter of her parliamentary career. Not letting an electoral blow bring her down, Joti Mirdha has been very active in political and public engagement, and she has been tirelessly working for social welfare and regional development.

After several years' association with the Indian National Congress, she made a delicious political switch in 2023 by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. After that, she ran for the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Nagaur on the BJP ticket, but she didn't win.

Jyoti Mirdha, apart from politics, has interests in architecture, sports, computers, and documentary studies. She is married to Narender Gehlaut and blessed with a son. According to the public records, her net worth is estimated to be around ₹1,02,31,54,480.
