Joginipally Santosh Kumar

Joginipally Santosh Kumar was born on 7 December 1976 in Kodurupaka village, Telangana, to J. Ravinder Rao and J. Shashikala. He developed early exposure to public and political life, which later shaped his role in Telangana’s regional political movement.

In 2001, he joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi) and worked closely with K. Chandrashekar Rao. Over time, he became a trusted associate and took on key organisational responsibilities within the party structure.

Apart from politics, he has also been actively involved in media management. He served as Executive Director of T-News and has been associated with managing Namasthe Telangana and the Telugu Media House, contributing to the party’s communication and outreach strategy.

He has served as the Personal Secretary to K. Chandrashekar Rao and also holds the position of General Secretary within the party. His organisational influence and proximity to leadership have made him an important figure in Telangana politics.

In 2018, he was elected as a Member of Parliament to the Rajya Sabha from Telangana. During his parliamentary tenure, he has served as Government Whip and has been a Member of the Committee on Science and Technology, Environment, Forests and Climate Change, contributing to legislative and policy discussions.

He is also widely recognised for launching the Green India Challenge, a large-scale environmental initiative promoting plantation drives and ecological awareness across India, which has attracted participation from public figures and citizens alike.

As of 2026, he continues to be active in national politics, maintaining his influence while actively engaging in parliamentary responsibilities, party organisation, environmental initiatives, media management, public outreach, and broader policy-related affairs.
