Imran Hussain Biography

Imran Hussain is an Indian politician who represents the Ballimaran constituency of New Delhi in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. He is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).



Born in New Delhi, Imran completed his schooling at Crescent School in Daryaganj and pursued his higher studies at Jamia Millia Islamia.



After his education, he joined the family garment business. Later, he ventured into politics and became a member of the Delhi Cabinet, holding the positions of Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Environment & Forests, and Elections.

• 2025: He contested and won the Ballimaran Assembly seat for the third consecutive term, defeating BJP's Kamal Bagri by a margin of 29,823 votes.
• 2015: Imran Hussain contested the 2015 elections from Ballimaran constituency and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. On 18 October 2015, he was appointed as the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, Environment & Forests in the Delhi Cabinet.
• 2012: Imran Hussain contested and won the councillor elections from Ballimaran from the Rashtriya Lok Dal political Party in April 2012.
