Harshvardhan Shahajirao Patil, born on 21st August 1963, is a notable Indian politician originally associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party and currently with the Nationalist Congress Party.

He hails from Indapur, near Pune in Maharashtra. Patil serves as a trustee of the Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust and is the Chancellor of Pimpri Chinchwad University.

With a rich political background, Patil has had an impressive career, holding ministerial positions for four consecutive terms from 1995 to 2014 in the Government of Maharashtra.

After graduating in Law (B.Com/ L.LB) from Pune University in 1988, Patil started his political career as an independent candidate from home turf Indapur Assembly seat in 1995. He was the minister of state for water conservation in the Sena and BJP coalition government which came to power for the first time from 1995 to 1999.

He has served as a Cabinet Minister, managing various portfolios, including Cooperation, Marketing, Textiles, Revenue, and Energy. Notably, he was the Minister of Cooperation and Parliamentary Affairs in Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan's ministry, where he successfully navigated complex political challenges.

His leadership has played a key role in the development of Indapur, as he worked to mediate between the Nationalist Congress Party and the Indian National Congress.
