Geeta Kora Biography

Geeta Kora, born on September 26, 1983, in Patahatu, Singhbhum, is an Indian politician. She began her political journey by being elected as a Legislator on the Jai Bharat Samanta Party’s (JBSP) ticket from the Jaganathpur assembly seat of West Singhbhum in 2009.

Following her tenure as a legislator, she assumed the role of chairperson of AAIDA. In 2014, she contested the Lok Sabha election from Singhbhum but lost to the BJP candidate Laxman Giluwa.

In 2018, Geeta Kora decided to part ways with JBSP and joined the Indian National Congress (INC). In the 2019 general elections when she won from the Singhbhum constituency in Jharkhand, this time on the INC ticket.

Her political affiliations shifted once again in the 2024 general elections. She joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and has been nominated from the same constituency by the BJP for the 18th Lok Sabha elections.

Currently, she serves as a Member of the Consultative Committee in the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Outside of politics, she shares a family with her. Geeta Kora married the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Madhu Kora and was blessed with three children.
