Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, hailing from West Bengal, is a notable figure in Indian politics, particularly as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Recognised for his instrumental role in bolstering the BJP's presence in West Bengal, particularly in border regions, Majumdar secured a seat in the Lok Sabha representing Balurghat during the 2019 elections under the BJP banner. He has been re-nominated by the BJP to contest from the same seat in the 2024 general elections.

Born in December 1979, to Sushanta Kumar Majumdar and Nibedita Majumdar. His upbringing was rooted in West Bengal. His father served in government employment, while his mother worked as a primary school teacher. Majumdar is married to Koyel Chowdhury, with whom he shares two children.
