Dr Kambhampati Hari Babu

Hari Babu uses his MPLADS funds with thrust on health, education, drinking water, and skill development.
He has advocated transparency in utilization of MPLADS funds and focus on big, long-term projects that will help solve chronic problems. Some of these projects include providing toilets and furniture in all Government schools, drinking water in all areas not covered under GVMC.
To encourage people's participation, he conducted One MP - One Idea contest under the scheme.

• He participated in Lok Sangharsh Samithi Agitation under Loknayak Jaya Prakash Narayan. He was detained under Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) during Emergency. He wasimprisoned for 6 months in Visakhapatnam Central Jail and Mushirabad Jail.

• He served as the Secretary, Students Union Andhra University Engineering College.

• He was appointed as Chairperson, Standing Committee on Energy and as a Member of Committee on Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

• He became Member, Committee on Public Undertakings.

• Member, National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR). Also he became Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Finance.

• Was appointed as Member, Standing Committee on Commerce.

• He was appointed as president, B.J.P., Andhra Pradesh. And he was Elected to 16th Lok Sabha from Visakhapatnam.

• After completing his Ph D he worked in Andhra University. He took VRS while he was Associate Professor in the year 1993.

1972 : Participated in the Jai Andhra Movement in support for the creation of Andhra State as student leader with Tenneti Viswanadham, Sardar Gouthu Latchanna and Sri Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu. 1972-1973 : Secretary, Students Union, Andhra University Engineering College. 1974-1975 : Actively participated in the Lok Sangharsh Samithi Agitation under Loknayak Jaya Prakash Narayan and was arrested under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) during the Emergency and was imprisoned for 6 months in Visakhapatnam Central Jail and Mushirabad Jail, Secunderabad Nominated Member, National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR), NCTC and the Court of University of Hyderabad Worked as Associate Professor for 24 years in the College of Engineering, Andhra University
