Dolly Sharma is a prominent figure in Indian politics. Born into a family with a rich political legacy, she inherited the values of leadership from her father, the former metropolitan president Narendra Bhardwaj.

In the year 2017, Dolly Sharma took her first steps into the realm of politics. Recognising her potential and unwavering dedication, the Congress party expressed confidence in her abilities and entrusted her with a significant role in the civic elections. Although the outcome of the civic elections did not favour her.

Her relentless efforts and unwavering commitment to the party's ideals did not go unnoticed. As the national spokesperson of the Congress party, Dolly Sharma has emerged as a compelling voice, articulating the party's vision and policies.

In 2019, she was once again bestowed with the party's trust as she was nominated as the Congress candidate for the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat. But she lost in that election.

In 2024, she was again given the Congress ticket to contest from Ghaziabad in the general elections as part of the INDIA alliance but lost to Atul Garg of the Bharatiya Janata Party by a significant margin.
