Dhani Ram Shandil Biography

Dhani Ram Shandil is a retired Army Personnel and politician. The congress politician has been serving as an MLA from Solan constituency of Himachal Pradesh since 2012. In the state legislative assembly 2022 elections, Dhani Ram won with 51.54 percentage of votes. He also holds the portfolios of Health and Family Welfare, Social Justice and Empowerment and Labour and Employment department as the cabinet minister of Himachal Pradesh since January 8, 2023. Shandil previously served as Indian Army and also a Bharat Jyoti award winner.

The politician was born on 20th October 1940 in Shimla to Narainuramji Shandil and Lakshmidevi Narainuramji Shandil. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Political Science. Dhani Ram is married to Indira Shandil and they are blessed with a son and two daughters.
