C.V. Ganesan

C. V. Ganesan was born in Tamil Nadu and has been associated with public life for several decades. His early years in politics were shaped by participation in party activities and constituency-level engagement, particularly in socially and economically marginalised regions. These formative experiences helped establish his standing within the DMK’s grassroots network.

He gradually rose through the ranks of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, earning recognition for organisational discipline and consistency. His work within the party structure strengthened his influence in the central districts of Tamil Nadu and prepared him for electoral politics.

In 2021, Ganesan was elected as a Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Tittakudi (SC) constituency. This victory marked his formal entry into the state legislature and aligned with the DMK’s return to power after a decade.

Following the formation of the DMK government in 2021, he was inducted into the Tamil Nadu Council of Ministers. He was assigned the portfolio of Labour Welfare and Skill Development, placing him in charge of labour policy, workforce welfare schemes, and skill-enhancement initiatives across the state.

As minister, Ganesan has overseen departmental administration related to labour rights, employment support mechanisms, and vocational training frameworks. His role reflects the party leadership’s confidence in his administrative capability and legislative experience.

As of 2026, C. V. Ganesan continues to serve as MLA from Tittakudi and as a cabinet minister, combining constituency representation with executive responsibility in a key social and economic portfolio.
