Vikramjit Singh Sahney

Vikramjit Singh Sahney was born on February 20th, 1962, in Kotkapura, Punjab, to Gurcharan Singh Sahney and Mohinder Kaur.

He is widely recognised as a highly acclaimed humanitarian, social activist, and philanthropist. Currently serving as the International President of the World Punjabi Organisation (WPO) and Chairperson of the Sun Foundation, he has dedicated himself to empowering the youth and women in India.

The Sun Foundation, under his guidance, operates prestigious skill development centres in Punjab and Delhi, alongside initiatives for drug de-addiction and rehabilitation. Notably, the foundation has extended its support to Afghan Sikhs and Hindu refugees, ensuring their daily needs, medical care, and education.

Vikramjit Singh Sahney's contributions extend beyond philanthropy. He has served as the Former Honourary Consul for the Republic of South Africa and Chairperson of BRICS AGRI Business Council.

Additionally, he has been a Member of the Board of Trade, the National Skill Development Corporation, and the India Brand Equity Foundation, all under the Government of India. His leadership roles also include serving as the Former President of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Paris, and the SAARC Chamber of Commerce.

In his political journey, Vikramjit Singh Sahney was elected to the Rajya Sabha in July 2022. He contributed to various parliamentary committees, including the Joint Committee on the Multi-State Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2022, and the Committee on Commerce. He holds the distinction of being a Permanent Special Invitee to the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of External Affairs and a Member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Finance.

Apart from his professional engagements, Vikramjit Singh Sahney is an author, having penned "Jewels of Punjab, Vol. 1 and 2" and "Baba Banda Singh Bahadur." In his leisure time, he enjoys watching recreational sports like golf and polo.

His exceptional contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri conferred by the President of India, the International Peace Award presented by Sir Anerood Jugnauth, the Leadership Award, and the Raja Ram Mohan Roy Award for Women Upliftment, among others.

Vikramjit Singh Sahney is happily married to Daizy Paramjit Kaur, and together they have two children. His net worth stands at Rs 4,98,45,98,383.
