Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu) was born to Shri M. Ravindra Nath Chowdary and Smt. M. Varalakshmi in Chataparru, Distt. West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. He holds a BA Degree and is a Businessperson
Agriculturist,Fim Producer,by Profession. He married Smt. Padmavalli Devi and has two sons and a daughter.

Babu is a Lok Sabha MP, he was elected in 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Eluru (Lok Sabha constituency) from Telugu Desam Party.He is well known for his social activities, he initiated supply of drinking water through tankers to villages in Kolleru villages and distributed Tricycles to poor and physically handicapped persons. He awarded scholarships to economically backward students and organized medical camps through the MRC trust.Magantti Venkateswara Rao was first elected to the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 and was Re-elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014.
