Varahagiri Venkata Giri was an Indian Politician and the fourth President of India.
V. V. Giri was born in Berhampur, Odisha, to lawyer-political activist V. V. Jogayya Pantulu and activist Subhadramma. Giri was the fourth President and third Vice President of India. Subsequently, he was honored by the Government of India with the Bharat Ratna in 1975. Besides this, he was a great orator and a prolific writer. Giri married Saraswati Bai in 1904, and the couple had 14 children.
