Vangalapudi Anitha Biography

Vangalapudi Anitha began her career as a teacher in Rajavaram, in the joint Visakha district, before entering politics. Her political journey started with the 2014 elections when she successfully contested for the MLA seat in Payakaraopet, a Scheduled Caste reserved constituency in the Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh.

After serving as an MLA, she faced a setback in the subsequent election, losing to her opponent in Kovvur. Undeterred, Anitha continued her political involvement by serving as the president of the Andhra Pradesh TEPDA women's wing. Her dedication and active participation in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) led to her becoming a member of the TDP Politburo.

In the 2024 elections, Anitha won the MLA seat in Payakaraopet again, this time with a significant majority of 43,727 votes. Following this victory, she was appointed as the Home Minister in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet.

On a personal note, she is married to K. Siva Prasad and has a reported net worth of Rs 1,41,71,085. She is also facing seven criminal cases.
