V. P. Singh Biography

Vishwanath Pratap Singh was the 7th Prime Minister of India from 1989 to 1990 and the 41st Raja Bahadur of Manda.
V. P. Singh was born on 25 June 1931 and was adopted by Raja Bahadur Ram Gopal Singh of Manda.
He completed his Law degree from Allahabad University and then received a B.Sc. in Physics from Fergusson College in Pune.
On the professional front, Singh joined the INC party and was elected as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1969.
Subsequently, he got several important positions to serve such as member of Rajya Sabha, Chief Minister and Prime Minister of India and so on.
Singh retired from political posts after 1996 but continued to remain a public figure for a long time. In 2008, V.P. Singh died from complications of multiple myeloma and kidney failure.
