K. On 4 May 2026, K. Thennarasu won the Sriperumbudur Assembly constituency as the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam candidate by securing 147,611 votes. He won the constituency with a margin of 54,246 votes, registering one of the biggest victory margins for TVK during the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election. His victory significantly increased his political visibility within the party and established him as one of the prominent first-time legislators elected from the Chennai suburban region.
