He won the assembly election representing the constituency of Fatikroy on a BJP ticket in 2018 and 2023, respectively. He also holds the portfolios of of Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Animal Resource Development and Fisheries as cabinet minister in the govt. of Tripura.
