Shrimant Balasaheb Patil

Shrimant Balasaheb Patil was born on 5 September 1958 in Sangli district, Maharashtra. His initial work in public service and local government activities started when he became involved with agricultural and cooperative movements that exist in his home area.

He started his political career with the Nationalist Congress Party, which led to his rise as a major political figure throughout western Maharashtra. His consistent engagement with farmers’ issues, irrigation concerns, and rural infrastructure development enabled him to establish strong electoral backing in the Jat area.

Patil has been elected multiple times to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Jat constituency, which shows that voters continue to trust him. He has dedicated his time to developing his constituency while working on agricultural water management policies and building cooperative institutions.

Patil maintained his role as a legislator after the NCP political shifts because his active presence in state politics remained strong. He continued his duties as senior MLA while participating in assembly sessions and managing political activities in his region during the 2024–2025 period.

As of 2026, Shrimant Balasaheb Patil continues to serve as a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, maintaining an active role in state legislative affairs and regional political engagement in Sangli district.
