Shreyasi Singh is an accomplished Indian sports shooter and politician from Bihar. She represents the Jamui constituency in the Bihar Legislative Assembly as a BJP leader. Singh has won multiple medals in Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and national championships, and represented India at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Born into a political family, she continues to balance her sports and legislative career, promoting youth development, women’s empowerment, and sports initiatives across Bihar.

She contested the Bihar Assembly Election in November 2025 from the Jamui constituency and secured a win, defeating Mohammad Shamsad Alam of the RJD by 54,498 votes.
She was sworn in as a minister in Nitish Kumar’s Bihar cabinet on 20 November 2025.

Shreyasi Singh Biography

An art graduate from Hansraj College, Delhi, and an MBA from Manav Rachana Vishwavidyalaya, Faridabad, Shreyasi Singh is a famous name in the sports fraternity. She won a gold medal in the Shooting at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, Women's double trap and a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Shreyasi Singh belongs to the royal family of Gidhaur. Both his parents, Late Digviajay Singh and Mrs Putul Kumari, have been members of parliament, and his father has served as a union minister also in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government.

Shreyasi got the love for shooting sports in her legacy as her father and grandfather, Late Surendra Singh, had served as presidents of the National Rifle Association of India in their lifetimes. For heroics in the shooting sports, she was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India.

Hailing from a political family, Shreyasi began her political career at a very early age of 30 as she contested the Bihar Assembly election from Jamui constituency and registered victory in her maiden election.

In November 2025, Shreyasi Singh, a former international shooter and daughter of Digvijay Singh, won the Jamui seat with 123,868 votes, beating RJD’s Mohammad Shamsad Alam by 54,498 votes, cementing her role as a young but influential BJP MLA.
On 20 November 2025, Shreyasi Singh, Olympic shooter turned BJP MLA from Jamui, was inducted into the 41st Bihar ministry under Nitish Kumar.
