Shankar Lalwani

Shankar Lalwani was born on born on 1961, October 16 to Jamnadas Lalwani and Gouridevi Lalwani. His roots lie in Sindh, now part of Pakistan. His family migrated from Pakistan after the partition of India and so he played a major role in citizenship of Sindhi Hindu Immigration.
He is one of the handful of politicians to have polled more than 10 lakh votes in a Lok Sabha election, having breached the barrier in May 2019. He polled more votes in 2019 than any other Lok Sabha member. His winning margin was five lakhs, with many candidates winning with higher margins than that, especially in Gujarat.
He has a keen interest in infrastructure development. He is serious about the development of Indore and all the surrounding cities. In addition to this, he is also interested in urban planning and startups.
Apart from this, he understands that the youth should remain in touch with traditional values. Hence, he organises Hartalika Mahotsav, Gudi Padwa Mahotsav Malwa Utsav, and Sanjha Utsav every year in Indore.
Through Lok Sanskriti Manch, he is engaged in enriching the field of Indian art and culture. Engaging youth in arts and culture programs.
He is interested in sports like Kabaddi and Swimming. He does yoga regularly and follows a vegetarian lifestyle. In his free time, he likes to spend time with family & friends, reading autobiographies and listening to soulful music.
