Shettihalli Timmegowda Somashekhar is mostly popular as S. T. Somashekhar, who is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He currently serves as the Minister of state for Co-Operation of Karnataka since 6 February 2020. He got also elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Yeshvanthapura constituency in 2018 and 2023, respectively. During the 2023 assembly election, he won by defeating BSP candidate Govindaiah. For the unversed, in 2019 Somashekhar joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and won the by-election same year.
About personal life, the politician was born on 1st June 1957 in Hesaraghatta Lake. Later he completed his study from Government Science college in 1980.
