R Dhruvanarayana was an Indian Politician of the Indian National Congress Party.
R. Dhruvanarayana joined the INC as a party worker in 1983 and worked his way up as a significant member of the party. After that, he served as the sitting MP of Chamarajanagar constituency. He won two consecutive assembly elections, one from Santhemarahalli constituency in 2004 and the Kollegal constituency in 2008. In 1999, he contested from the Santhemarahalli constituency but was thwarted by INC's A.R Krishnamurthy. However, he defeated Krishnamurthy in the 2004 assembly elections by a margin of 1 vote. He was elected against his rival A.R Krishnamurthy's bid for the Lok Sabha Seat in the 2009 and 2014 general elections. Primarily, he was an agriculturist and did a master's and bachelor's degree in Agriculture from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore.
