Namri Nchang (1967) is a well-experienced Indian politician from Tening, a town in the Peren district of Nagaland. He graduated with a B.A. degree in 1991 from B. N. V. Degree College, which is associated with Bundelkhand University. Nchang was born to Alabo Nchang, who had passed away.

Nchang’s entry into politics was through the Naga People’s Front when he got elected in 2013 from the Tening Assembly constituency in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections. This was his first term, and he was then considered to be a member of the assembly. In 2018, he again won elections and continued to be the voice of the Tening constituency.

In the recent 2023 Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections, Nchang not only won the Tening seat again but also cleared the way for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the Party that his rival could not reach up to.

In May 2025, the merger of Namri Nchang and six other NCP MLAs with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) took place, thus boosting the ruling party’s majority in the Nagaland Assembly through the merger.
