Neiphiu Rio has been serving as the Chief Minister for four separate terms, which is making him the only Nagaland Chief Minister to serve for the longest period of time. Rio also holds the portfolios of Finance, Personnel and Administrative Reforms, all important policy issues in the government of Nagaland. He is associated with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party. Earlier, Neiphiu also served as a Member of Parliament from Nagaland in Lok Sabha.
