Hardik Patel Biography

Hardik Patel spearheaded the Patidar reservation agitation before he plunged into active politics as an Indian National Congress member. Primarily a social activist he was involved in the Sardar Patel Group (SPG), a Patidar youth body and later was elected president of its Viramgam unit. He led the Patidar movement in 2015, when his sister failed to secure the state government scholarship. Her friend who secured lower rank and belonged to OBC, cinched in a scholarship. This revealed the discrimination wrought upon the Patidars of the community. He worked on INC's campaign in 2017 and was subsequently appointed as a part member.
