Gokaraju Ganga Raju

Gokaraju​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Ganga Raju was brought into this world on 14 June 1948 in Kesavaram village of the West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh and later educated in pharmacy. He started his professional journey as a licensed chemist. In 1976, he made his entry into the pharmaceutical business by setting up Chemiloids, which subsequently expanded into several ventures and became the core of the Laila Group of Industries. His business empire spread to pharmaceuticals, paper production, and agro-based industries over a period of time.

He has been industrially successful, but he didn't stop there and took education as his next platform of interest. He is the founder of the Gokaraju Rangaraju Educational Society. In 1997, he founded the Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology, which later became one of the most reputed private engineering institutions of the region. Moreover, his presence in the sports and administration arena has been very dynamic, especially in cricket, he led the Andhra Cricket Association and later held various offices at the national zonal level.

His first and only full-scale electoral politics stint was in 2014, when he ran for the Lok Sabha election from the Narsapuram constituency on a BJP ticket and won. After serving his term as a parliament member in 2019, he left the electoral scene and decided to focus on business, education, and sports administration full-time. Up to 2025, he is still active as an industrialist and educationist in Andhra ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌Pradesh.
