Dr Boora Narsaiah Goud

Dr. Narsaiah Boora, a renowned figure in both politics and medicine, boasts a diverse and impactful career trajectory. Formerly a Member of Parliament representing the Bhongir constituency, he contested in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections under the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party banner, securing a significant victory against formidable opposition. However, his political journey took a turn when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on October 15, 2022. Recognising his influence and capabilities, the ruling party has nominated him to contest once again from the Bhongir constituency in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Prior to his foray into politics, Dr. Boora established himself as a distinguished laparoscopic, obesity, and gastrointestinal surgeon in Telangana, India. Revered as a trailblazer in the field of laparoscopy within India, he performed over 20,000 laparoscopic surgeries, encompassing oncological and bariatric procedures, at a time when such techniques were limited to select centres in the Western world.

Dr. Boora's engagement in politics is paralleled by his deep involvement in the Telangana movement, where he played a pivotal role in various activities such as rasta roko, million march, sagara haram, rail roko, and assembly muttadi. His commitment to the cause led to his arrest on two occasions. Moreover, leveraging his medical expertise, he provided essential healthcare services to numerous individuals injured or in need during the movement, further cementing his reputation as a compassionate leader.

Driven by a vision of equitable healthcare, Dr. Boora strives to deliver quality medical services to all strata of society. As the director of the Hyderabad Institute of Laparoendoscopic Surgery (HILS) and an esteemed practitioner at Aditya Hospital and Care Hospital in Telangana, he ensures that his expertise is accessible to individuals across different socio-economic backgrounds. Additionally, he founded the Boora Laxmaiah and Rajamma (BLR) Foundation, dedicated to providing free laparoscopic infertility services to childless couples, thereby addressing a pressing societal need.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Boora finds fulfillment in intellectual endeavours, including reading, writing, and contemplation, with a focus on catalysing positive societal change. He also indulges in recreational activities such as volleyball and hockey.
