By transforming the traditional Kavi Sammelan performances into fun, widely spaced, cultural happenings, he became one of the literary icons, most notably among the young generation. His poetry is an emotional, nationalistic mix with reflection on society and usage of the most modern, day themes, which has facilitated the Hindi language to reach out to new audiences other than those who are already familiar with the literary circles.

Dr. Kumar Vishwas studied Hindi literature and holds a Masters degree and a PhD in the same field. He started off as a teacher and then went on to become a professor.
