Bhupendra Rajnikant Bhai Patel has created history when he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat as a first time MLA. A member of the Bharatiya Janta Party, Mr. Patel has scaled up a long journey from a councilor to the chief minister of a state.
Born and brought up in Ahmedabad Gujarat, he got his Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Government Polytechnic Ahmedabad and started his construction venture. He gradually strode in politics and went on to become the chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority. He has also served as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
Notably, Bhupendra Patel is the first Chief Minister who comes from Kadva Patel Community. He is considered to be close to Anandiben Patel, the former chief minister of Gujarat.

He worked as the chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) from 2015 to 2017. He also served as a chairman of the Standing Committee of AMC.
He was a Councillor from Thaltej Ward from 2010 to 2015.
He was the Vice Chairman of school board of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) from 2008 to 2010.
Elected member of Memnagar Nagarpalika for the first time and reelected in 1999 and 2004.
