Ajay Tamta

Ajay Tamta, a dedicated social activist, represents the Almora constituency of Uttarakhand in the Lok Sabha, under the banner of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Having previously served as a Union Minister in the Ministry of Textiles during the inaugural term of the Modi government, he now serves as a vital member of the Standing Committee on Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

His electoral prowess is evident, having secured victories in both the 16th and 17th Lok Sabha elections from the same constituency. Such success has led to his renomination by the BJP to contest the forthcoming 2024 general elections.

Born on July 16th, 1972, to Manohar Lal Tamta and Nirmala Tamta in Almora, Ajay Tamta's personal life is marked by his marriage to Sonal Tamta and their blessed parenthood of two children.
