Secretary of the AIADMK Medical Wing, Dr Venugopal, graduated from Stanley Medical College, Chennai and is one of the 26 medical practitioners in the current Lok Sabha. A member All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Venugopal won his first Lok Sabha election from Tiruvallur in 2009 by defeating Gayathri.S of DMK. He was re-elected in 16th Lok Sabha in 2014. He's presently serving his second consecutive term in Tiruvullur.
