Dr. Munisamy Thambidurai is a famous political leader of Tamilnadu. Munisamy Thambidurai is a leader of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam or AIADMK. Munisamy Thambidurai is an MP or Member of the Parliament from Tamilnadu and he represents the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam or AIADMK in the Parliament and also serves as the current Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha. He had served as the Cabinet Minister of Law, Justice and Company Affairs and as the Minister of State of Surface Transport from March 1998 to April 1999. He had also served as the Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 1985 to 1989. Munisamy Thambidurai has been elected from the Karur Lok Sabha Constituency.

1990

During 1990 to 1991 he was appointed as the Member of General Purposes Estimates, and Consultative Committees. Also he was the commitee member of Departments of Atomic Energy, Space, Electronics, Ocean Development and Ministry of Science and Technology.

Early 60's:

1. Thambidurai started his political career as a youth worker and student activist of the erstwhile united DMK in 1965 at the age of 18, when he was in the first year as a student of Madras Christian College. 2. He participated in the anti-Hindi agitation of 1965 and courted arrest.

Thambidurai M Achievements

M Thambidurai became an MLA from Erode in 1977, and was first elected as a Member of Parliament to the 8th Lok Sabha in 1984 from Karur (Lok Sabha constituency), Dharmapuri and was subsequently elected to the 9th Lok Sabha, 12th Lok Sabha, 15th Lok Sabha and 16th Lok Sabha.
He was among the founding-members and first generation of the AIADMK in 1972 when the party split with M.G. Ramachandran.
Thambidurai contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Karur (Lok Sabha constituency) in Tamil Nadu and was subsequently elected as a member of the Indian Parliament.
