Tej Pratap Yadav is an Indian politician from Bihar and the first child of the former Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. In addition to being one of the chief faces of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), he was a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from Mahua (2015–2020) and Hasanpur (2020–2025).
In the state government of Bihar, he was Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, among others. In 2015, he first entered state politics.
In 2025, following his expulsion from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), a new political party was formed by Tej Pratap, Janashakti Janata. This event marked a new stage of his political career. He made a statement that he will contest the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections on this platform, thus severing ties with RJD permanently.
