N. Chandrasegharan was born to Nalla Thambi and Paripooranam in Mettur on 2nd January 1955. He married Renuka in 1982 and was blessed with three children.
He was elected to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament from Tamil Nadu as an All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party member.
As a member of the Coffee Board and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, he contributes to shaping policies and strategies in the coffee industry and healthcare sector.
From 2014 to 2019, he served as a Chairperson of Mettur Urban Co-operative Society and a Director at Salem Central Co-operative Bank.
