Margaret Alva Biography

Margaret Alva has served as the 17th Governor of Goa, 23rd Governor of Gujarat, 20th Governor of Rajasthan and 4th Governors of Uttarakhand. She belongs to the Indian National Congress political party for a while now.
Alva was born on 14 April 1942 in a Catholic family at Mangalore, Karnataka. She completed her BA degree from Mount Carmel College and a law degree from Government Law College. She also served as the Cabinet Minister. However, Alva was defeated by her opponent BJP candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar by 346 votes for the 2022 Vice-President elections on 6 August 2022.
