M. P. Renukacharya

M. P. Renukacharya was born on April 1, 1962, in Karnataka. He entered politics at a young age and gradually built his base in the Honnali region of Davanagere district, emerging as a grassroots leader with strong connections among rural voters.

He was first elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Honnali constituency in 1994 as an independent-backed candidate aligned with the Janata Dal. Over time, he shifted political allegiance and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, where he became a key regional leader.

Renukacharya gained prominence during the political developments of the late 2000s and early 2010s, particularly during the period of defections and realignments in Karnataka politics. He served as Political Secretary to Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa, playing a significant role in coordination between the government and party organization.

He has been elected multiple times from Honnali and has remained a vocal and active legislator, often addressing issues related to agriculture, infrastructure, and regional development.
