കരസേനയിലെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ഓഫീസര്‍മാരിലൊരാള ജനറല്‍ വിജയ് കുമാര്‍ സിംഗ് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ 24ാം ആര്‍മി ചീഫായിരുന്നു. 2012ല്‍ അദ്ദേഹം സൈന്യത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് വിരമിച്ചു. 2014ല്‍ വികെ സിംഗ് ബിജെപിയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നു. വിദേശ കാര്യ മന്ത്രാലയത്തില്‍ സഹമന്ത്രിയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. ലോകത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ കുടുങ്ങി കിടന്ന ഇന്ത്യക്കാരെ തിരിച്ച് നാട്ടിലെത്തിക്കുന്നതില്‍ നിര്‍ണായക പങ്കുവഹിച്ചിരുന്നു വികെ സിംഗ്.
