Aradhana Mishra was born on 20 April 1974 in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh, into a political family headed by her father, veteran Congress leader Pramod Tiwari, who represented Rampur Khas for decades before entering the Rajya Sabha. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master of Business Administration from Allahabad University before beginning her political career.
Mishra’s political journey began at the grassroots, where she was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee from around 2000 and served three consecutive terms as Block Pramukh in Pratapgarh district from 2001 to 2016. Her organisational work and party engagement helped build her profile in local politics.
In the 2014 by‑election for the Rampur Khas seat, previously held by her father, she won her first term as MLA. She retained the seat in the 2017 Assembly elections and again in 2022, becoming one of the few Congress legislators in the state amid a difficult election cycle. Her victories underscored both her personal appeal in the constituency and the enduring Congress presence there.
Mishra also served as Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, leading party strategy in the state legislature and frequently critiquing the Yogi Adityanath‑led government on issues ranging from law and order to agriculture and governance.
As of 2026, she continues in this leadership role and remains actively involved in legislative debates and state party affairs.
