BJP candidate from Nalagarh assembly seat in Himachal: Krishan Lal Thakur
Nalagarh has seen both Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party in power. While the Congress has won more elections here, the 2012 election was won by BJP's Krishan Lal Thakur with 35341 votes. Congress's Lakhvinder Singh Rana was second with 26033 votes. This year, too, the contest is between Thakur and Rana. It remains to be seen whether Thakur retains the seat.
Nalagarh is a historic town close to the Union Territory of Chandigarh. It neighbours Baddi, which is a key industrial town in Himachal Pradesh. Nalagarh is home to the tourist attraction of Fort Nalagarh.
