Chaitra Poornima: Himalayan gods to take bath at Har Ki Pauri
Haridwar, Apr 20: More than a hundred local gods and goddesses of Himalayan states like Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir carried in palanquins will have a bath in the holy waters of the Ganga at Hari Ki Pairi in Haridwar on the occasion of Chaitra Poornima on April 22 during the ongoing Ardhkumbh mela.
The Ardhkumbh Mela administration has given final touches to preparations for the Shahi Snan of the Himalayan gods and goddesses on Chaitra Poornima.
People from different places have begun to gather in the town to witness the colourful yatra and Shahi Snan of the Himalayan deities in the Ganga, Devbhoomi Lok Sanskrity Virasatiya Shobhayatra Samiti president and former minister Mohan Singh Rawat Gaonwasi said.
The Devdolis will arrive in Rishikesh on April 21 morning and proceed in the form of a procession for the holy bath in Haridwar from Bairagi camp, he said.
Erstwhile Tehri royals including Tehri MP Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah and former chief minister and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank are likely to be in Haridwar on the occasion.
