Uttarakhand to launch Indias first Himalaya Airsafari using gyrocopters, offering tourists a unique way to explore the states untouched destinations and stunning Himalayan views.

In a bid to boost adventure tourism, the Uttarakhand tourism department announced the upcoming launch of the Himalaya Airsafari, a unique experience that will utilize gyrocopters. This initiative marks the first of its kind in the country, offering tourists an unparalleled opportunity to explore the state's breathtaking landscapes from a new perspective.
Successful Flight Test in Haridwar
The department conducted a successful flight test of the country's first gyrocopter in Haridwar on Saturday. This milestone achievement paves the way for the official commencement of the Himalaya Airsafari. The necessary approvals have been obtained from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, ensuring the safety and compliance of the gyrocopter operations.
Connecting Tourists with Untouched Destinations
Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the gyrocopters imported from Germany will play a pivotal role in connecting tourists with the pristine and unexplored destinations of Uttarakhand. These advanced aircraft will provide a unique vantage point, allowing visitors to marvel at the majestic Himalayan range and the serene rivers that flow through the state.
Gyrocopter Flight Test Experience
Colonel Ashwini Pundir, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, who participated in the gyrocopter flight test, expressed his excitement about the upcoming Himalayan Airsafari initiative. To facilitate the smooth operation of the gyrocopters, the tourism department, in collaboration with the civil aviation department and respective district magistrates, is actively working on developing special airstrips at various scenic locations across the state.
