Once-In-A-Lifetime Event: Dazzling Blue Meteor Lights Up Spain-Portugal
According to the reports, a fireball-like meteor was noticed in the skies of Portugal on Saturday, March 16, at 1:54 am, which was said to be "brighter than the full moon". Reports said it was a meteorite that entered the atmosphere at a speed of 61 thousand km/h, and was spotted in the Foros de Vale Figueira area, in the district of Évora.
The news of meteor was confirmed by a researcher from the SMART project at the Andalusian Astrophysics Institute (IAA-CSIC), José María Madiedo, who said that fast-moving rock was spotted in the northeast direction at an altitude of approximately 19 kilometers, over the parish of Cano, in the municipality of Sousel.

As the meteorite traveled, it experienced multiple explosions caused by "abrupt ruptures in the rock," leading to "sudden increases in luminosity." Despite this, preliminary analysis revealed that the meteorite was not entirely destroyed, with a portion of it reaching the ground.
