Supreme Court Fines Samay Raina ₹3 Lakh, Says Comedian 'Took Court for a Ride'

Comedian Samay Raina's problems are not getting settle down soon, Supreme Court on Tuesday slammed Samay Raina for breaking the its last directive about insensitive remarks on persons with disabilities on his show. The court imposed a 3 lakh rupees fine on Samay Raina and four others and asked them to deposit the amount within in two weeks.

Supreme Court Says Orders Were Not Followed

Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana sitting bench directed the order that Samay Raina had not called an person with disabilities to his show, despite that his one of the conditions of being laid down by the court was this in its earlier directions.

The Bench were truly disappointed with Samay Raina for not following the orders and questions his way of running the show.

Court Makes Strong Observations Against Raina

Justice Surya Kant led Supreme Court Bench said, "We have reason to believe that Samay Raina has taken the court for a ride and has brazenly violated the orders of this court. The misconduct is further compounded stating that an affidavit is filed when nothing is on record. Thus, we impose a cost of ₹3 lakh to be deposited within 2 weeks."

This court said that this matter is serious specially after he submitted affidavit during the proceedings of his case.

Fine Also Imposed on Four Others

Besides Samay Raina, Supreme Court also fined four more persons in this matter, and these all fours have also been asked to submit the amount of 3 Lakhs within two weeks. This case became controversy after it was alleged that Samay Raina show is insensitive towards persons with disabilities. That made Supreme Court intervene and give directive in the matter.

However, currently Supreme Court has fined Samay Raina and four others for 3 lakhs Rupees fine each for violating the last orders. The case is still in the court.
