One would have expected the anti-incumbency factor to play a role after BJP's two successive terms at the MCD, but exit poll predictions surely do not suggest that way.

Exit polls have predicted a landslide win for the BJP in the MCD elections held on Sunday. Going by exit polls results, this would be third consecutive win for the saffron party in MCD elections.

BJP

North, East and South municipal corporations of Delhi went to polls on Sunday with the BJP, the Congress and the AAP locked in a triangular contest.

Out of the 104 wards of the North Delhi, the ABP News-C Voter predicted 88 seats for the BJP, while the AAP and the Congress are expected to win six and seven seats respectively.

In East Delhi, BJP is expected to win 47 out of the 64 seats while the AAP is likely to win nine seats. The Congress is expected to win six seats.

According to ABP News-C-Voter survey, the BJP is expected to win 83 out of 104 seats in South Delhi. The AAP and the Congress are likely to win nine seats each.

In total, BJP is winning 218 seats out of 272, AAP 24 and Congress 22.

Another exit polls by Axis India Today has also predicted similar outcome. It has given the BJP anywhere between 202-220 wards, while the AAP is likely to win between 23-35 and the Congress between 19-31.

This clearly suggests that the Modi wave is here to stay and is paving way for BJP's win from states to civic bodies. One would have expected the anti-incumbency factor to play a role after BJP's two successive terms at the MCD, but exit poll predictions surely do not suggest that way.
