Sarita Vihar Flyover Closed On Mathura Road From May 1 To June 30
Commuters using Mathura Road should brace for traffic congestion as maintenance work on the Sarita Vihar flyover is scheduled for 60 days between May 1 and June 30. This flyover is heavily used, particularly by those traveling from Southeast Delhi to Faridabad. The Public Works Department (PWD) officials have announced that the maintenance work will be conducted in four phases, starting May 1, to ensure at least half a lane remains open to traffic.
The repair work will be carried out in two phases, with each carriageway requiring 30 days for completion. Initially, the section from Ashram to Badarpur will undergo repairs in the first and second phases, followed by the Badarpur to Ashram section during the third and fourth phases, according to Indian Express reports citing a PWD source.

The PWD had initially planned to conduct the repair work last year but postponed it. Officials stated that the flyover, constructed in 2001, is in urgent need of repair.
Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory urging commuters to avoid the area to prevent massive traffic jams.
Commuters traveling from Ashram on Mathura Road towards Badarpur and Faridabad are advised to use Road No. 13A accessible from the Sarita Vihar flyover's slip road. They can make a U-turn at Road No. 13A to rejoin Mathura Road and continue their journey.
