Organic village set up in each district : Minister

Patna, Mar 14: In order to retrieve fertility in the farmland and promote use of natural fertilisers for farming, the state government has set up an organic village in all 38 districts, the Agriculture minister Narendra Singh informed the legislative council today.

One village in each of the 38 districts have been selected as Jaivik Gram (Organic village) and farmers'' help groups formed to encourage organic farming, he said. As many as 4217 farmers in the 38 villagers were engaged in organic farming, Singh said.

In order to encourage use of naturalized fertilisers, the state government will district seeds for ''Dhaicha'' plant for plantation in four lakh hectares by Apr this year so that it could be useful for Kharif crops, the agriculture minister said.
