Haiti experiences 6.1 magnitude aftershock

Washington, Jan 20: A week after the 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated Haiti, the Caribbean country experienced a magnitude 6.1 aftershock.

With the horror of Tuesday, Jan 12 quake still fresh in their minds, the people responded with fear and rushed out of buildings, say international media reports.

According to US Geological Survey (USGS) the temblor occurred at 1103 GMT and was centered 42 km west-northwest of Jacmel.

However, there were no immediate reports of damage.
