Pak denies legal assistance to Kasav

Islamabad, Dec 25: Azmal Amir Kasav, the lone survival of Mumbai terror attacks 2008, will be denied of legal assistance from Pakistan. Pakistan will not ask India for consular access to Kasav until his nationality is confirmed, said Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik on Wednesday, Dec 24.

Rehman Malik denied that Kasav, who was arrested in Mumbai terror attacks was a Pakistani. He also opined that NADRA did not contain Azmal Kasav's name. “The investigation is still in progress, and the findings will be shared later on," he said.

Kasav had sought legal assistant from Pakistan and consular access, claiming he is a Pakistani.
He has been remanded to police custody for a further two weeks on Wednesday, Dec 24. A lengthy charge sheet on Kasav is being prepared, the police said.
