Pak denies legal assistance to Kasav
Islamabad, Dec 25: Azmal Amir Kasav, the lone survival of Mumbai terror attacks 2008, will be denied of legal assistance from Pakistan. Pakistan will not ask India for consular access to Kasav until his nationality is confirmed, said Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik on Wednesday, Dec 24.
Rehman Malik denied that Kasav, who was arrested in Mumbai terror attacks was a Pakistani. He also opined that NADRA did not contain Azmal Kasav's name. “The investigation is still in progress, and the findings will be shared later on," he said.
Kasav
had
sought
legal
assistant
from
Pakistan
and
consular
access,
claiming
he
is
a
Pakistani.
He
has
been
remanded
to
police
custody
for
a
further
two
weeks
on
Wednesday,
Dec
24.
A
lengthy
charge
sheet
on
Kasav
is
being
prepared,
the
police
said.
