Prachanda sworn in as Nepal's PM
Kathmandu, Aug 18 (UNI) Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda was sworn in as the first Prime Minster of the Himalayan Republic today.
The Maoist leader took the oath of Office and secrecy at a function held in Presidential Palace at Sital Niwas here this afternoon.
Wearing western suit instead of Nepali national dress, Prachanda took oath from president Ram Baran yadav in presence of Heads of constitutional bodies, chiefs of security organs, CA members, leaders of political parties, foreign diplomats, members of civil society and national and international journalists.
Indian Leaders led by Sharad Yadav also attended the function.
Prachanda was elected Prime Minister on Friday.
